WHAT CAN I BRING ONTO THE STREET?
Random bag searches will be in operation on King Street throughout the day on Saturday.
All large bags will be searched. Prohibited items including alcohol and glass containers are not permitted on the street.
WILL THERE BE WATER AVAILABLE?
We encourage people attending the festival to bring their own water bottles. Businesses will be happy to refill your bottle for you, and we will also have some water refill stations.
WHERE CAN I WATCH THE PARADE?
We recommend audiences position themselves along Standishgate and around Market Place to watch the parade. We recommend getting into position between 1pm-1:15pm. The parade begins at Mesnes Park from 12:45pm, leaving the park at 1pm. The parade makes its way along Mesnes Park Terrace, Mesnes Street, Standishgate, Market Place, Wallgate and finally King Street.
WHAT ACCESS PROVISIONS ARE IN PLACE?
The parade route and King Street is accessible for wheelchair and mobility aid users. BSL Interpreter Cheryl Walker (RSLI) will be interpreting at key moments throughout the parade, and between 2pm-4pm on the main stage on King Street.
A wheelchair accessible toilet is available on the street. Accessible toilets are also located within Morty’s and Revolution.
ARE THERE PUBLIC TOILETS?
A block of temporary toilets will be available for use on King Street between 2pm-10pm on Saturday, and between 12pm-5pm on Sunday. This will include a disabled toilet.
ARE THERE AGE RESTRICTIONS?
Between 2pm-5pm on Saturday, and 12pm-5pm on Sunday, we welcome all ages onto King Street.
Between the hours of 5pm and 10pm, under 16-year-olds must be accompanied by a responsible adult.
Proof of age will be required to gain entry to the street from 5pm.
IS THERE ANYWHERE TO PARK?
All council-owned outdoor car parks are free on the weekend. See the Wigan Council map of free weekend parking here.
WHO CAN I ASK IF I NEED HELP AT THE EVENT?
All staff will be clearly identifiable by either a Wigan Council uniform, a security badge, or a blue Streets Apart Festival t-shirt. If you need any assistance on either day, please speak to a member of staff and they will be able to help.

CAN MY BUSINESS HAVE A STALL/SLOT?
